Welcome Message
Recently, abnormal climate phenomena have increasingly threatened human life in various ways. The consequences of neglecting our planet—such as floods, droughts, extreme storms, and wildfires—have manifested as climate disasters. The COVID-19 pandemic, ongoing for the past three years, has also brought significant changes to our daily lives. In particular, the surge in the use of disposable products to prevent infection has made our efforts toward a sustainable Earth even more challenging.
In response, the Seoul Metropolitan Government is actively implementing its “Zero Waste Seoul” initiative to protect the Earth from waste. We are working to reduce the use of disposable items, promote eco-friendly consumption, and transition to a circular economy by collecting, reusing, and recycling waste.
Against this backdrop, Seoul will host the “Seoul International Forum on Climate and Environment 2022” on December 1–2 at Seoul City Hall. The forum will showcase exemplary zero waste practices and examine the efforts of cities transitioning to a circular economy. It will also provide a platform for experts to discuss the crucial role cities play in creating a sustainable planet.
We invite your keen interest and active participation in the “Seoul International Forum on Climate and Environment 2022,” as we work together toward a sustainable and healthy Earth.
